Turbosmart ProOPR is a rising rate oil pressure regulator for your turbocharger. The ProOPR is boost referenced, not unlike your fuel pressure regulator and allows lower oil pressure at lower boost pressures and increases oil supply pressure to the bearing system at higher boost levels. This is designed for large turbocharger systems and high boost levels where the additional pressure and confidence is required at high boost, high shaft speed and horsepower levels.

The twin outlet system also creates a ‘T’ in your turbocharger oil supply line for simplicity of plumbing and connection for up to 2 turbochargers and while it is returnless, inline design it uses a boost reference to create a pressure differential. This pressure differential targets appropriate bearing pressure at low and zero boost pressure to eliminate your turbocharger digesting oil, while also providing increased oil pressure at higher boost levels to provide increased protection and confidence.

Notes: This solution is designed for large turbocharger systems and high boost levels as found in Pro-Mod and other similar forms of Motorsport where large frame turbochargers and high boost levels are in use.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Keep your Turbosmart components working flawlessly with simple, periodic maintenance. Reliability is built in, but routine care maintains maximum performance.

  • Blow-Off Valves (BOVs): To ensure a quick, clean seal, the piston and bore should be cleaned and lightly lubricated every six months.What to use: Use a soft cloth to clean and lubricate the piston with a non-viscous oil (like sewing machine oil or hydraulic oil).What NOT to use: Avoid heavy grease or thick oils, as they can slow down valve operation.
  • Wastegates & Boost Controllers: Focus on system integrity. Regularly inspect all vacuum/pressure hoses and fittings for cracks, splits, or leaks, which are critical for precise boost control.
  • eGates (Electronic Wastegates): Periodically apply spray grease to the butterfly valve gearbox mechanism for smooth movement.

Always check your specific product's manual for detailed steps. Simple maintenance ensures consistent boost and extends the life of your turbo system.
